Whenever we find ourselves near the Great Pacific, 

we find ourselves making frequent appointments to meet with the setting sun.

The Mexicans tend to keep this same appointment. 

The city beaches can be quite barren until half an hour before the sun meets the horizon. 

And then like clockwork, carloads begin to arrive 

seemingly, for no other reason than to participate in this grand display.

We are here to abet creation and to witness it, to notice each thing,

 so each thing gets noticed … so that creation need not play to an empty house.
