December 23, 2014

Light shines brightest in the darkest places and these darkening days of December keep beckoning for the brightest shafts to burst on forth.

The candles get lit, and stories are read, and wildly sung carols are heard.   We walk this Advent journey of light and darkness, pondering what it all means millenniums ago in Bethlehem, and what it could possibly mean today just north of Edmonton.    There's these tired parents, and long to-do lists, and children who pinch and squirm silly through carols and prayers.

Yet even so, the noble fir keeps twinkling and the candle wicks get trimmed and the days start growing brighter thanks to an equinox miracle ...

Just in time for Christmas.

May your Christmastime be filled with many brilliant
twinkles and ponderings this year,
