It was mid-November when the girls started seeking out snowflakes in the forecast finding only rain predicted for weeks on end.
Their little spirits full of anticipation since two years had past since they last crunched snow into balls and laid angels waving wings upon the ground.
A week ago now, when snowflakes were spotted at the weather network site, it was with great rejoicing as snow pants, and snow boots, and four pairs of mittens were laid out in preparation for a snow ladened morning.
Just in time for a white Christmas ...
In the bleak midwinter
Frosty wind made moan
Earth stood hard as iron
Water like a stone
Snow had fallen snow on snow
Snow on snow
In the bleak midwinter
Long ago
Taken from "In the Bleak Midwinter" by Christina Rossetti
And a little "Merry Christmas" from our family to yours ...
