On the day she was born, on that triple nine date, she birthed herself into a household of sisters.  Swaddled in white flannel and embraced in sibling arms, she began to wrap herself around the hearts of three young girls.

The two oldest remembered doing this before, showering the new babe with gifts and kisses and nose smooshes up against the cheek.  But for the toddler, this was a first, and she had no idea what a gift she was receiving in this sister-friend.

The toddler, now with curls, sleeps next to her sister-friend, buried under quilts patterned with Raggedy-Ann and Teddy Bears.  These treasured quilts cradle their sleep, once pieced together by their own mama's sweet sister-friend.

And while my fingers type now,  the husband peeks in and reports that they are holding hands. Their fingers entwined and touching, reaching out to each other through those pink crocheted blankets, so enduring, the ones loved-stitched by mama's other sweet sister-friend.

All wrapped-up, surrounded in sister-friend love.  It's no doubt that these sisters will be friends for a long, long time.
